Can I Cut My Heat-Line Self-Regulating Heating Cable System? - Heat-Line Freeze Protection Systems

Can I Cut My Heat-Line Self-Regulating Heating Cable System?

In this month’s video blog, we answer a commonly asked question about our self-regulating heating cable systems: Can I cut my cable?

Heat-Line offers SR Cut-to-Length heating cable, which is intended to be cut in the field by qualified installers, and factory finished systems, which are job ready, manufactured to the required length, and simply plug in (hardwired connection also available).

This video focuses on Heat-Line factory finished systems, which come factory finished, certified, and pressure tested. These systems cannot be cut or spliced in the field.

Key points:
– SR Cut-to-Length heating cable is intended to be cut in the field by qualified installers.
– Factory finished heating cable systems cannot be cut in the field.
– Factory finished systems are job ready and manufactured to the required length.
– Factory finished systems are supplied complete with plumbing components (where applicable).
– Factory finished systems are supplied complete with a GFCI protected plug end or hardwired power lead.

If your factory finished system is too long, there may be approved ways to adjust the length of your installation depending on the product. Watch one of our previous vlogs to learn how to adjust the length of the Retro-Line in-pipe self-regulating heating cable.

Before ordering, our sales and technical team will help determine the best product for your application and guide you on how to measure for the correct cable length.
