Standard Power Connections Options and Power Cord Lengths for Heat-Line Heating Cable Systems

by Matt Roberts

Heat-Line provides pre-manufactured self-regulating heating cable systems with two standard power connection options:

1. Ground fault protected (GFC model) with an integral 27 milliamp ELCI/GFCI which plugs into a standard 120volt or 240 volt receptacle. We recommend the use of specification grade receptacles (NEMA 5-15R for 120 volt) and (NEMA 6-15R for 240 volt). Cording is CSA-c-us listed #14 SJOOW or #12 SJOOW depending on heating cable system length and load. It is recommended to order the plug-in GFC systems with a suffix – “GFC” after the product number.

2. Cord-Set only, where the product is supplied with a 6 foot long CSA-c-us listed #14 SJOOW or #12 SJOOW depending on heating cable system length and load with a ½ inch knock-out strain relief fitting. Ground fault circuit protection must be field installed with these systems. These systems are also used when the systems are installed with our GFA-STAT. The GFA-STAT is a NEMA 4X thermostat with integral 30 milliamp ELCI/GFCI. Cord-Set systems are ordered with a suffix – “CS” after the product number.
